Mold Removal Service
Have tapes that have been exposed to moisture or stored in damp conditions?
TREK Video Services offers mold cleaning for video tapes prior to digital conversion. Mold can damage both the tape and playback equipment, making professional cleaning necessary before a safe transfer can be attempted.
While mold removal can improve the chances of a successful transfer, the cleaning process itself carries inherent risks. Tapes affected by mold are often already weakened or deteriorating. During the cleaning process, mold, debris, and damaged oxide layers may be removed from the tape surface. In some cases, this may result in partial loss of recorded footage, reduced audio or video quality, or, in severe cases, complete loss of portions of the recording.
Because every tape is different, TREK Video Services cannot guarantee the recovery of all recorded content from mold-contaminated media. The extent of recoverable footage depends on the condition of the tape, the severity of the mold contamination, and any pre-existing damage.
Mold removal services are priced on a case-by-case basis. Contact us for an evaluation and personalized quote.
Please Note: While cleaning can often make a tape playable for transfer, severe mold damage, tape deterioration, or loss of magnetic oxide may limit the quality, completeness, or recoverability of the recording. By authorizing mold removal services, customers acknowledge and accept the risk that some or all recorded footage may be unrecoverable.
We believe preserving memories should be accessible and affordable—no hidden fees, no pressure, just quality work that lets you relive the moments that matter.
